FITNESS EVOLUTION GYM EQUIPMENT

Here is the list of equipment you will be using at Fitness Evolution.

ELLIPTICAL TRAINER

An elliptical trainer is a cardiovascular piece of equipment that works both arms and legs in a striding style motion. This piece of kit allows you to adjust stride length and provides users with a low-impact, total-body workout that fits your cardio needs. The smooth motion of the Flex Strider Trainer elliptical machine adeptly reproduces the feel of running or jogging without the impact on the knees and joints.

TREAD MILLS

Walk, jog or run. A perfect piece of kit, treadmills offer a perfect platform for a cardio session. You can adjust your preferred speed and incline before and during your workout. Walking or running on a treadmill is an excellent way of building up to walk/run ability with reduced stress on the joints of the lower body than walking or running on hard, flat surfaces outdoors.

CROSS TRAINERS

Cross trainers are an upright piece of gym equipment that uses both the arms and the legs. The cyclical motion of the legs can be aided with a pull/ push movement from the arms, or uses can select to train using legs only for a more focused feel.  This low-impact aerobic training promotes strong cardiovascular training effects that can strengthen heart-muscles, reduce the risk of coronary diseases and improves cardiorespiratory fitness.

STEPPERS

Step machines (or steppers) are exercise machines that simulate climbing stairs. Stairs will revolve at the speed selected by the user and floors climbed as well as total calories burned will be tracked. The stairs have a frame around them to provide more stability for users which allows for challenging levels to be selected. The Stepper, therefore, provides excellent aerobic fitness gains.

SKILLMILL

The skillmill is a treadmill that is powered by the user as opposed to by a motorised tread. The tread is slightly curved upwards and the weight of the user creates momentum that causes the tread to begin to move. For speed and sprint training choose low resistance levels, however for more powerful push style training choose high resistance settings. This piece of kit offers a more realistic training feel to outdoor running.

WATT BIKE

The Wattbike is much like regular exercise bikes but with a number of more advanced scientific measures in place. The key difference between the Wattbike and every other indoor bike is that the Wattbike accurately measures power output in Watts. Therefore, within seconds it can accurately measure power output, pedaling technique, and heart rate.

TECHNOGYM PLATE-LOADED RESISTANCE MACHINES

Resistance machines are used for weight training and are specially designed to target specific muscle groups. Plate loaded resistance kit emulates the excellent training effect of free weight training however they are potentially safer to use as they ensure stability throughout the movement. Feel free to add or take off the plates to increase/decrease kit resistance. Resistance training improves muscular strength and endurance by making the muscles work against a weight/force.

ROWERS

Rowers are exercise machines designed to imitate the act of rowing. Rowing works on all the major muscle groups making it one of the few exercises to work on both the upper and lower body. The rowing machine is effective for weight loss as the exercise provides both strength training and cardio workout.

UPRIGHT BIKES

Indoor cycling is a great way to gain the health and fitness effects from training using a bike but within a gym environment. These static bikes will allow you to increase resistance on the pedals whilst remaining fully in control of speed. The screen will inform you of speed, distance and calories burned.

RECUMBENT BIKE

This cycle based gym equipment has all the fitness outcomes of the upright bike whilst providing additional lower back support. Rather than a saddle, his piece of kit has a full seat on which users cycle providing more stability and allowing users to focusing on leg activation only.

HAMMER STRENGTH POWER RACKS

A power rack (or squat rack) is a piece of weight training equipment. It functions as a mechanical spotter for free weight barbell exercises (squat, bench press, etc.). The biggest advantage of the use of this equipment is that it doesn’t restrict your body movement. The power racks also have accessory attachments such as a chin-up bar and pegs for storing weight plates. Push your limits with this state of the art equipment.

LIFE FITNESS DUAL CABLE MACHINE

The cable machines are a great way to train with resistance encouraging strength and muscular endurance developments. For instance, the cables can be repositioned at different heights and with many different handle attachments easily changed depending on what exercise is being performed. This versatile piece of kit can be used for hundreds of different exercises that will target the whole body.

SYNRGY 360 RESISTANCE RIG

The 360 rig is designed circular in shape with many different interchangeable cables, ropes, resistance bands, bars, platforms, and attachments. From monkey bars to resistance band attachments, this equipment is designed with a functional full body training approach. It can be used for bodyweight training, equipment based strength training or a combination of the two.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING AREA

The functional area has a 14m running track and a synthetic turf section. You will find here plyometric boxes, the Jammer strength trainer, kettlebells, foam rollers, power bags, and weighted sled. In addition to any form of exercises you wish to do in this area, it can also be used for stretching and core type training as it is safely away from the cardiovascular and strength training machines.

Terrible customer service. Had signed up and got the first month free. A week later I had to leave the gym due to extenuating circumstances (change of job) and not living in Burnley. Was told by the desk staff this was fine as was in the terms and conditions and to email. Put through my direct debit after me letting them know and made me pay for an extra month even though I only went to the gym twice. Absolutely disgusting.read more

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility is key to us at Fitness Evolution.  We strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to get fit and train within our facilities.  On-site, we have a lift, disabled shower room in both males and female changing rooms, and a separate changing and shower room for those who require additional space or simply feel more comfortable on their own.  Therefore, if you have any queries regarding accessibility, please speak to the reception team who will do their best to meet your needs.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal Training is at the centre of what we deliver best.  On site, you have access to take up personal training sessions with the best trainers.  Our Fitness Manager is 1 of 5 master trainers in the UK and our Fitness Coordinator holds Personal Trainer of the Year 2018.  With highly skilled staff, we are able to support you and take you through your fitness journey.  Whatever your needs, we have the skills, knowledge and high tech equipment to drive you to achieve your goals.  Personal Training sessions are available to everyone, with a membership or not. MAINTENANCE

Here at Fitness Evolution we strongly believe in the safety of our members, this is why we regularly service our equipment and maintain our facilities. We deliver preventative maintenance to ensure we provide a safe and productive environment for all members.

LOCATION

We are located in the centre of Burnley, behind Burnley College with excellent access to the town’s main attractions.  Within 5 minutes of walk into the town centre and a quick 10 minutes walk to the bus station.  There is a train station within 2 minutes’ walk from Fitness Evolution and the motorway is 300 metres away.  Fitness Evolution is directly across from the ASDA supermarket and next to the vision park. The car park located at the rear of the building is free for external gym users. Feel free to ask at the reception if you have any queries.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We operate a hassle free and worry free cancellation policy. We understand that circumstances do change and this is why we do not tie any of our members into long term contracts.  All we ask is that you give us one full month’s notice of the cancellation of your membership.  You will have access to the facilities until the end of this date.
